Upcoming Children Programs

Leprechaun Hunt - March 6 to March 20 

Can you find all the leprechauns? Take a look around the library and count how many leprechauns you see. Submit your guess for the chance to win a prize! We will announce how many there actually were on March 21.

Preschool Shamrock and Rainbow Party - Monday, March 20 - 2 p.m.

Come feel lucky at this great preschool party as we make spring crafts and play games! Feel free to dress up in your best green or rainbow clothes. 

Virtual LEGO Club - Monday, March 20 - 4 p.m.
Join Ms. Jodi on Zoom for some fun with LEGO building! Use the building bricks you have at home to participate in building challenges and show off your creations.

Library Storytime - Tuesday, March 21 - 10 a.m.
 
Join Ms. Rachel for storytime! Recommended for toddlers, this is a great time to hear new books, see other families, and have some fun at the library!

March Madness Activity Grab and Go - Wednesday, March 22 - while supplies last
Have you been keeping up with March Madness? We have! Kids can grab a fun educational basketball activity packet to take home. Coloring pages, word puzzles, and more included. Great to keep children occupied next time you go out and watch a game (crayons and coloring utensils not provided).

Music and Movement - Friday, March 24 - 10 a.m.
Get ready to boogie with songs and dance! This musical program for toddlers is great for starting off your Friday morning.

Read Aloud Hour - Tuesday, March 28 - 4 p.m.
It's chapter book storytime! Older kids can join Ms. Ashley for popcorn and reading!

Upcoming Tween Programs (Ages 8-12)

Read Aloud Hour - Tuesday, March 28 - 4 p.m. 
Tweens can come to this casual book club where a librarian reads aloud from a chapter book for an hour. During the reading have snacks, color, or work on homework. To start we are going to be reading Spy School by Stuart Gibbs and having popcorn. Read Aloud Hour will be every second and fourth Tuesday of the month. Ages 8-12

STEAM Club - Wednesday, April 15 - 4 p.m.
Stop by the library afterschool for STEAM club! From science experiments, to engineering challenges, we do all sorts of fun things.

Upcoming Teen Programs (Ages 12-18)

Teen Advisory Board Meeting - Thursday, March 23 - 5 p.m.
TAB will be meeting to talk about plans or spring. Game night will follow at 5:30 p.m.. Ages 12-18 ONLY

Teen Game Night - Thursday, March 23 - 5:30 p.m.
Teens are welcome to join us for pizza, soda, and games! We play both video games and board games. Feel free to bring your own game to share or try out a new game from the library's or Ms. Ashley's collection! Ages 12-18 ONLY 

Teen Café - Tuesday, March 28 - 6-7 p.m.
Join us for sweets and crafts! Each month we have a new activity. This month we will be making custom bookmarks! Ages 12-18 ONLY

Teen Dungeons & Dragons - Saturday, April 1 - 1-3 p.m.
The library's teen D&D club will be meeting for their monthly game session. If you are a new player contact Ms. Ashley in advance. New players to D&D welcome. Players must be in middle or high school.

Upcoming Adult Programs

Caring for Your Loved One with Dementia - Wednesday, March 15 - 6 p.m.
Presentation by Kaylin Peterson, Certified Dementia Practitioner. Get some extra support by attending this free educational workshop about caring for friends and family with dementia.

Fly-Tying with the Nebraska Cornhusker Fly Fishers - Thursday Nights - 6-8 p.m.
The Nebraska Cornhusker Fly Fishers meet at the library Thursday nights to make fly lures. Come learn how to do one with them! They have supplies for new fishers, but you can bring your own as well if you would like.

Tips and Tricks Watercolor Classes - Saturday, March 4 & 18 - 1 p.m.
Register for a free water color class with local artist Cathy Placzek. Both beginner and experienced artists are welcome. During this workshop class you will get tips on how to improve your art plus learn new techniques for watercolor painting. Registration is required. Space is Limited.

Genealogy with GOGS - Sunday, March 26 - 1:30 p.m.
Every month the Greater Omaha Genealogical Society offers a free educational class on genealogy research. This month the group will be covering software and website resources. So start tracing your family tree today and come! No need registration needed.

Book Clubs

To join a book club talk to librarian Cedate Shultz about receiving a copy of a book. You do not need to have a library membership to join one of our book clubs. Ages 18+

Monday Evening Book Club - Monday, March 13 - 7 p.m.
This month's book discussion will be on A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purnell. 

History Book Club - Saturday,  March 11 - 2 p.m.
This month's book discussion will be on The Great Passion by James Runcie.

Wednesday Afternoon Book Club - Wednesday, March 15 - 2 p.m.
This month's book discussion will be on Maisie Dobbs by  Jacqueline Winspear.

Page to Screen Book Club - Book Discussion: Tuesday, March 21 - 6 p.m. --- Movie Showing: Saturday, April 1 - 12 p.m.
This month's book club discussion will be on Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier.
