Something for Everyone
The La Vista Public Library offers a variety of all ages programs. Whether you are coming in a group or are flying solo, anyone is welcome to join us for the following activities. These family friendly events offer a great way to meet other people in the community or spend time with your loved ones.
Fly-Tying for Fly-Fishing Lessons
On Thursday nights from 6-8 p.m. the Cornhusker Fly-Fishers will be at the library teaching lessons on making homemade flies. If you are learning fly-fishing for the first time or just want some expert tips, these are the folks you want to talk to! This is a drop-in program and anyone is welcome to come.
Trivia Nights
Keep an eye out for family trivia nights! We currently have been doing these virtually through Zoom. Sometimes we will pick a theme like Disney or Harry Potter. Other times we will do general trivia and you won't know what topics we will cover! Players of all ages are welcome to play with us. In fact, teams with a wider range of ages tend to be able to get more questions right! Check the library calendar to see when the next trivia night is.
Virtual Scavenger Hunts
Families are given a time limit to track down specific items in their home. If they can make it back to their computer screen in time and show us the item through the camera they earn points. This game is lots of fun for all-ages! Check the library calendar to see when the next virtual scavenger hunt will happen.
