Programs Offered to Children
The La Vista Public Library offers many services to children of the community. Below is a listing of current services offered to children, birth through fourth grade.
Creative Hands programs are activities geared towards kids ages 2-7 and their caregivers. Many of these activities help kids improve fine motor skills, develop critical thinking, and improve socialization. Adults are encouraged to participate in activities with their children. To see what programs are coming up head to the Creative Hands Page.
Wednesdays this summer we are having STEAM stations! Offered from 2-3:30 p.m. and again from 6-7:30 p.m. you can come both times or just once. We will have five activities set up each relating to science, technology, engineering, art, or math. You choose what activities you want to do! During this time we will be getting some use out of the library's new makerspace so come check it out. Some of the things we will be utilizing include our laser cutter, 3D printer, button maker, Accu-Cut machine, and tinker boxes. We are also going to be getting some VR equipment this summer so you won't want to miss it!
Head to the Storytimes Page for a list of upcoming storytimes at the library or out in the community
Other Summer Programs
For some of the other fun things offered this summer check out the Summer Reading Page! We have some art programs, a family book club, a pirate and mermaid party, and even more fun things planned!
If Papillion/La Vista Schools close due to inclement weather, all programs at the library will be canceled.
